George M. Mestas, M.D.

Dr. Mestas was born in Cuba and emigrated to the US in 1961, at the age of 10. Dr. Mestas received his undergraduate education at the University of Kansas. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, graduating at the age of 22.  He received his Internal Medicine training at the University of Texas A&M and served his Pulmonary fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston. Dr. Mestas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary diseases and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He joined Internal Medicine Associates in 1979.

Dr. Mestas serves the community as Medical Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center and as Medical Director of the School of Respiratory Therapy at Edison Community College.
