Amy B. Wecker, M.D.

Dr. Amy Wecker graduated from Tulane University, earning her Bachelor of Science cum laude.  She then moved to Beer Sheva, Israel, to study International Medicine in an innovative collaboration between Ben Gurion University of the Negev and Columbia University in New York.  After earning her MD, she moved to New York City to complete her Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hosptial Center.  She subsequently completed her Infectious Disease Fellowship at SUNY Downstate, in Brooklyn, New York; and then came straight to sunny Fort Myers to join the IMA team of community physicians.

Dr. Wecker is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association and the Infections Disease Society of America.  Her special interests are in HIV/AIDS management and in preventative medicine through healthy living.

In July, 2007, Dr. Wecker joined our Infectious Disease Team at our Metro Pkwy location where she is now accepting new patients.
