Dr. Victor Luna was born in Panama and began his medical education in San Jose, Costa Rica. After completing two Internships in Panama in 1997, he practiced as a General Practitioner at Clinica Hospital San Fernando until 1999. He relocated to the United States, where he served his Internal Medicine Internship and Residnecy as LSU Health Sciences Center in Lafayette, Louisiana and served as Chief Resident in the Internal Medicine Department there until 2002. He also earned his Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism from the University of South Florida, Tampa, in 2004.
Dr. Luna is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also Certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. He has his AACE Thyroid Ultrasound Accreditation. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Diabetes Associates, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Dr. Luna is fluent in Spanish and English and is a member of IMA's Endocrinology Team. He is accepting new patients at both our Metro Parkway and our Cape Coral office locations.
